 SmartGuard® is made from a highly elastic, special india rubber. Embedded glass shards or flints cannot work their way through the protective layer, so SmartGuard® offers the maximum in puncture protection!

With each push tires contact the hands and there are usually many extraneous raised areas on the tire sidewall, such as the tread side lugs, the makers name, or the dynamo ribs and, as every wheelchair user knows, this constant friction can invariably lead to sore hands.
Active wheelchair users need tires that perform, but that are also kind to hands, so this tire is designed  with two different tread zones the Schwalbe 2Grip: Zone 1 on the outside of the tire is perfectly smooth and glides smoothly past the hand. Zone 2 has a pronounced tread for optimal traction on the inside of the tire and so does not come into contact with the hand. So the 2Grip tire both slips and grips, but the wheel stays under complete control.
